A Perioperative Consultation will involve the Specialist reviewing and assessing the patient prior to undergoing intermediate to high-risk surgery.

Common Indications
- Patients scheduled for major surgery (i.e. laparotomy, bariatric surgery, etc)
- Co-morbidities including limited exercise capacity, diabetes, history of smoking or coronary artery disease, renal dysfunction, anaemia…
Test Description
A Perioperative Consultation will involve the doctor assessing the patient prior to undergoing intermediate to high-risk surgery. The doctor will evaluate the patient, medical history and symptoms and refer for further investigations to assist with determining pre-operative risk factor/s and pre-habilitation options.
