The Holter monitor utilises state-of-the-art technology for better patient comfort and data collection. It is small and water resistant, meaning it is discreet, and you can go about your normal daily activities with ease.
It will record your heart rhythm continuously throughout the day and night. The duration of time you need to wear the device for will be determined by your doctor and stated on your referral.

Pre-Procedure:
Bathe or shower the day of your appointment as we need the skin to be clean. Please wear a loose-fitting shirt or top as the technician will need access to the chest area.
Procedure:
The Holter monitor will be connected to a boomerang shape patch with one wire attached to another electrode on your side. The electrode patch is stuck to the side of your chest. During the recording you will need to list your symptoms, the time they occur and what you were doing at the time on the diary sheet provided. Please carry out your normal daily duties whilst wearing the device.
* DO NOT: Submerge the holter monitor in water (in the bath or pool). You can have a light shower. Do not use an electric blanket or magnetic underlay *
