What to Expect During Your CT Scan
Most scans take 10–30 minutes, depending on the area being imaged.
You may be asked to:
- Arrive fasting for abdominal or contrast scans
- Remove jewellery and metal objects
- Inform staff of allergies, especially to contrast dye
- Notify us of diabetes or kidney concerns
If your scan requires contrast dye, you may feel a warm sensation; this is normal and typically resolves quickly.
After your scan, you can usually resume normal activities immediately unless advised otherwise.
